Pet Owners Speak Up: Cherished Stories From Our Clients

Bella came to live in our home after we lost our 12-year-old dog, Honey. Our home always consisted of three Bichon Frishes, and I thought the best thing to do after such a great loss was to get another dog.

Oh boy! She was nothing like Honey!! She was all puppy and did more than her fair share of the naughty things that puppies do! Our two older dogs, Buffy and Lexie, didn’t know what to make of her, and honestly, I wanted to return her to the breeder.

Thank goodness that didn’t happen! Bella is such a character! She brings such joy to my life. She loves kisses and hugs and to snuggle. She keeps her two older “sisters” young and loves her toys.

Bella also loves little creatures!! One night when I was in the kitchen, I saw something out of the corner of my eye and realized it was a mouse. We had a hard time trying to catch the mouse. But not Bella—that night she became Bella the mouse-catching dog!

We have lots of chipmunks in our yard, and she gives them a great chase. Bella brought one of those chipmunks that lost the race to a party I was having. She was so proud of herself—that night she became Bella the chipmunk-catching dog!

Our dogs come into our lives for such a short time, so it is important to cherish every moment!
